Books for school library

Nampak Closures in Cape Town embraced a challenge to collect old and unused books of an educational nature for Nampak's partner schools programme.  A total of 46 books, including novels and plays, as well as second-hand stationery files were delivered tot he nearby Belhar High School.

The challenge is aligned with Nampak's CSI strategy regarding the partner schools programme, which includes equipping and upgrading libraries, and employing qualified librarians.  The focus on books is key to inspiring a life-long love of reading, while providing a solid platform for independent learning and discovery.  These attributes are the building blocks of academic success and leadership in the future.

The school's Deputy Principal, Michael Manwaring and the librarian who is funded by Nampak, Natasha le Roux, received the books and files.  They were accompanied by a group of Grade 12 learners.

Nampak also offers support in terms of:

*Equipping and upgrading science laboratories
*Providing administrative infrastructure e.g photocopy machines
*Funding teacher upgrade programmes
*Sponsoring bursaries for high achievers in Accounting, Maths and Science
